Auto Shankar(kowri shankar) was an important serial killer who was active from 1954-1995. He was a Tamil Nadu gangster who was involved in various murders and prostitution.
Earlier life of auto shankar
Auto Shankar was born on 21 January 1954 in Kangeyanallur, a village near Vellore. He was separated from his mother at an early age and his father left Tamil Nadu for Odisha due to family hardships. Later, they returned to Tamil Nadu in the early 1970s to pass the time. At first, they built a small hut in Mylapore and then moved to Thiruvanmiyur, a rapidly growing suburb of South Chennai.
Auto Shankar studied up to PUC in Chennai. Auto Shankar later got married to Jagatheeswari. And fathered 4 children with Jagatheeswari. Eventually, a fight started between the two who lived well. Jagatheeswari, who was very distressed, committed suicide by setting herself on fire. This ended their married life soon.auto Shankar had many wives. He used to visit the nearby cabaret club often. Then he met Lalitha, who was a ballerina in that club. Later they got married.
History of crimes
Initially unemployed auto shankar he used to drive cycle rickshaw to survive the poverty. Auto shankar thought to become rich somehow ran in his mind. Later he started driving an auto rickshaw to get familiar with the auto drivers there. From that he got the nickname auto shankar. At that time alcohol was prohibited in the area. was in effect.This made Shankara indulge in illegal activities.
Shankar thought that he could make a good profit by smuggling liquor and distributing it to people. Accordingly, he started smuggling and distributing liquor. As expected, good profits were made in this sector. Then he spent his whole time thinking of smuggling liquor as his profession.
After pouring a lot of money into Auto Shankar, the desire for women started. Eventually, Auto Shankar became addicted to prostitutes. Then information came to light that with less risk, good profit can be seen in the prostitution industry.
Later, Auto Shankar started engaging in prostitution with women. Auto Shankar continued to work as a prostitute to earn good income. With the money he had, Boles got hold of many officials, politicians and big VIPs. He kept prostitutes in his hands by sending and paying them to police officers, politicians and big VIPs.
At one point in the 1980s, Auto Shankar's rival Babu's gang disappeared. According to police sources. The matter immediately turned to Auto Shankar. Although Auto Shankar did these murders, Auto Shankar could not do anything because of his influence in the police circles.
When Auto Shankar sends prostitutes to big VIPs and politicians, he gives them a small camera and asks them to record them. He used this record to extort money from big VIPs. Auto Shankar Mel, who became very influential, lost his wife's involvement. The reason is that Auto Shankar used to enjoy all the money he earned without sharing it with his wife.
At one point Auto Shankar's wife Lalitha got angry and went alone with Auto Shankar's close friend Sudalaimuthu and started doing business. Both of them started a prostitution business against Auto Shankar. Auto Shankar got very angry and planned to kill them. Auto Shankar called both of them to peace.
One night Auto Shankar called his wife Lalita to one of his houses in Periyar Nagar, Chennai saying he wanted to see you. Auto Shankar along with his friends brutally killed Lalitha and buried her in the house. He then sold the house to an old widow for Rs 150. A few days later Sutlai Muthu, who came to know about Lalitha's disappearance, asks Auto Shankar where is Lalitha?Auto Shankar then told Sudalaimuthu that Lalita had gone with an important VIP.
Then Sudalaimuthu and Auto Shankar drank alcohol together. At that time Auto Shankar and their friend burnt Sudalai Muthu to ashes and threw the ashes into the sea. Knowing this, Sudalai Muthu's friend Ravi started opposing Auto Shankar. But Auto Shankar did not spare Ravi either, he killed and buried him in a flat in Periyar Nagar Chennai.And Auto Shankar wrote a false letter to Ravi's wife saying that he was in Mumbai as Ravi wrote.
Then in 1988 a team started working against the highly influential Auto Shankar. Sampath, Mohan and Govindraj belong to that gang. When Auto Shankar used their prostitutes for his business, he refused to pay them. Shankar then lured them into his trap by promising them money and beat them to death as well.
Later, Vijaya, the wife of Sampath, a member of the group, lodged a complaint at the police station that her husband was missing and Auto Sankara was fully responsible for this. But at the police station they sent "You should file a complaint at Thiruvanmiyur police station". But Auto Shankar had the police officers in his hands and turned the case against Vijaya and jailed Vijaya for harassing Shankar.
A few days later, Vijaya sent a letter to the Governor. Immediately the Governor called Thiruvanmiyur Police Station and ordered Auto Shankar to be interrogated. But the police, showing some hesitation, asked Vijaya to take back the complaint against Shankar and rejected the complaint. Devastated, Vijaya asked a journalist near her home to write about her husband's disappearance.
Immediately the journalist also published in the newspaper that Ravi might be missing. Auto Shankar was arrested and interrogated after this news came out to the whole world. Later it was proved that Auto Shankar had committed the murder. Auto Shankar also admitted during the investigation that he committed not only these three murders but also the other three murders.
The case was tried in Chengalpattu court. Auto Shankar and his friends Eldin and Shivaji were sentenced to death in this case. And Shankar's brother Mohan, Selva and jail superintendents Kannan, Balan, Rahim Khan were given life imprisonment.Accordingly, in 1995, Auto Shankar was hanged in Salem Jail.
